This Council assists the Pastor in identifying the needs of our parish community. Council meetings also serve as a forum for suggesting solutions and ways to implement them.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion assist with the distribution of Holy Communion. The Pastor appoints these ministers. This ministry is open to confirmed members of the Church. There is normally a need for extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion at all Masses. This is a wonderful way to serve our parish community. Training is provided.

Ministers of hospitality represent the Church community by welcoming parishioners and visitors to the church. During Covid-19 they open doors, take names of attendees and they assist the assembly as they gather.

This ministry is open to any parishioner who has the ability and desire to proclaim God’s word. The reader reads Scripture passages at Mass. Training and mentoring is provided.

ADORATION CHAPEL

Adoration Chapels are a place to pray & to adore the true presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration takes place Mondays in the church 7:00am to 10:00pm. Enter by the side door using the lock code.
PASTORAL CARE TEAM

The Pastoral Care Team members visit and bring Holy Communion to the people of the parish who are homebound or in a retirement/nursing home. They pray with them and are a friendly person to talk with. We are always in need of volunteers. Team members meet every six weeks to discuss a particular topic that would be helpful for the pastoral visitor.

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS – R.C.I.A.

This is a process where a non-baptized person is enquiring to become part of the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation and the reception of Holy Communion thereby being fully initiated into the Catholic Church. Meetings are normally held on Sunday. There are also those who have been baptized in another church and wish to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church. They should speak directly to the Pastor or Deacon. Parishioners are invited to participate in this program as Sponsors to the candidates.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic organization that welcomes men 18 years of age and older from this parish to become members. Men, who are practicing their faith, can look to build fraternity and organize charitable works for God and country.
